Mushroom Pie

Pies don't have to be dessert. They can also be a nice, easy dinner. Just think of it as a pot pie without the top layer of crust. Mushrooms are a hearty replacement for meat; they make this a nice meatless meal for vegetarians or people looking for options for "Meatless Mondays". It may not be the prettiest dish in the world, but it is rustic, satisfying and delicious.

Awesome Marinade For Meat

I was at the store the other day and happened to see this marinade by Goya. When I still ate fish I used to use it all the time, and it gave it a great flavor. I got my father hooked on it as well. He uses it for steak. It gives meat a really, really good flavor. If you are using it for steak, allow it to marinate overnight. For fish, you could probably get away with marinating it for a few hours. The longer, the more flavor you'll get. I bet it would taste great on bbq.

I've been trying to figure out how I can use it in a vegetarian dish, but I haven't figured it out yet. When I do, I'll be sure to let you know. :)

Be sure to shake it well before using it.

Lost Pictures

It seems as though a whole lot of the pictures here are gone for some reason. I will be working to replace them. Many of them will require me re-making the recipes again so bear with me over the next few months. I can't cook a million dishes at once! :D We'll get it back together, and the recipes are still there. The only thing missing are the pictures.

Herb Facts; St. John's Wort

Thank you to Divine Iz Earth for posting this wonderful information!

St. John's wort, medically referred to as Hypericum perforatum L., is an herbal supplement that comes from a flowering plant. Proponents for the use of St. John's wort claim that its leaves and flowers contain the active ingredients hypericin and hyperforin, which can be used to improve the symptoms of various conditions.  St John’s Wort is one of the best non-narcotic herbs for dealing with nerve pain, and is thus very useful as a fibromyalgia herb.

Herb Facts: Wormwood

Here is another great lesson from the NGE Health Practitioners. The wonderful sister who I get these articles from has her own blog! Please show the sister some love after reading about Brahmi by checking her blog out..

The herb wormwood has long been used in herbal remedies to rid the body of pinworms, roundworms, and other parasites. However, it can also be used to enhance digestion for the worm-free.The most common use for this bitter herb is to stimulate the digestive system. You may be familiar with the practice of taking bitters before meals to aid digestion. A bitter taste in the mouth triggers release of bile from the gallbladder and other secretions from intestinal glands, which enables us to digest food.
